Christmas time is my favorite season for many reasons. Obviously the most important one is: JESUS. Without His birth there would be no lights, trees, gingerbread houses, pageants, carols, wreaths, Christmas cookies, stockings, and presents. And more importantly no place at the table at our Father’s house. In some denominations the season is called Advent referring to the four Sundays before Christmas. Some of the words used to define “advent” are words like “an arrival” or “coming”.
For me this season has always been one of preparation, not just for December 25th but for the coming new year. I have always asked God for a word, a scripture, dream, or vision for the year to come. And He always responds. As the prophetic has become a more accepted part of our Christian life there are more prophetic words being released by well established and recognized prophets. My challenge to myself, is to first inquire of the Lord for His Word for the New Year. It takes some restraint and will power to give God an opportunity to speak to me directly rather than downloading a prophet’s conversation with God. So I am challenging you to ask the Lord directly for His Word for the year. I have mine, but I’m not telling :)
